A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:
- Ubuntu 13.04
- Ubuntu 12.10
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Summary
DBus could be made to crash if it received specially crafted input.

Details
Alexandru Cornea discovered that DBus incorrectly handled certain messages. A local attacker could use this issue to cause system services to crash, resulting in a denial of service.
Update instructions
The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions:
- Ubuntu 13.04
- libdbus-1-3 - 1.6.8-1ubuntu6.1
- Ubuntu 12.10
- libdbus-1-3 - 1.6.4-1ubuntu4.1
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
- libdbus-1-3 - 1.4.18-1ubuntu1.4
